It often happens that many people decide to go to New York and are not sure which neighborhood or which hotel to stay in. You have to think that it is a huge city and one of the most visited on the planet. And in this sense, the hotel offer is very varied in its 5 districts: Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx and Staten Island.
Of course, as a general rule, travelers come to New York—especially first-timers—mainly to experience Manhattan. And it must be said that the prices for spending a night there are not given at all. On the contrary. And that’s why you have to refine a lot when looking for a hotel in New York. If your project is to discover Manhattan, we offer 5 hotels in different neighborhoods with excellent value for money:
Very close to Times Square
It is clear that if we want to know Manhattan, the best option to stay in New York is to do it in Manhattan itself. But it is not easy to find good hotels at good prices. Being an island nearly 22 kilometers long by nearly 4 kilometers wide, the possibilities are endless. It must be said that Manhattan is divided into 3 zones: Uptown or upper part, Midtown, middle part and lower or lower part.
Let’s start with a great hotel in Midtown. A few blocks from Times Square, Even Hotel is a great option for those looking for a great location at an affordable price. The rooms are very practical. As often in Manhattan, they are small but very well equipped: a king bed or two queen beds, as well as free wifi. It also has a flat-screen TV.
What do travelers think? From what we’ve seen on most hotel platforms, there are two things we really like about this hotel: the gym and the fact that the rooms are very clean.

Close to Central Park
We are now located in the upper part of the district, west of Central Park and east of the Hudson River. It is probably one of the most liveable neighborhoods in the city. It’s quiet and has a large Jewish population. It’s quite young, because you have to take into account that Columbia University is there. There are several attractive places to visit such as the Lincoln Center, the famous Apple Store or the John Lennon Memorial in Strawberry Fields.
The hotel we suggest in this area of New York – between Broadway and 76th – is the Beacon Hotel. It’s a classic. It’s next to the Beacon Theater. This is surely one of the best suggestions in Upper Town. One of the most striking things is that the rooms have a small kitchen. It has a metro station a short distance away to be able to move around the rest of the city.
What do travelers think? It’s a safe bet: out of nearly 1,000 customers who leave their reviews on Google, 91% have an excellent or very good opinion of this establishment. They give it a score of 4.4 out of 5. Many highlight its magnificent location.

A 5 star in Hudson Yards
Getting around Manhattan is very easy. In addition to the division by zones: high, medium and low, you can also take as a reference that the avenues (avenues) are the streets that rise from the top to the bottom, and the streets (streets) go from this to the East river, west to the Hudson River. The next hotel we recommend is in the central part (Midtown) and in the east part. To be exact, in the Hudson Yards, a relatively new, luxurious and trendy neighborhood. You can find everything there: culture, gastronomy, shopping (with more than 100 stores), squares and public gardens, impressive skyscrapers.
The Equinox hotel is an excellent suggestion. Modern, sophisticated and brand new. 212 rooms, including 48 suites, in a 72-storey building. The highlight (apart from the hotel itself) is the rooftop bar and lounge with views of the Hudson River. Spectacular. Plus, a great gym and spa to indulge in total relaxation.
What do travelers think? And reviews from recent guests are very positive: Google reviews rate it 4.5 out of 5, Booking.com 9.3 out of 10. Cleanliness, spacious rooms, and amenities stand out against the view of Hudson Bay .

In the Bowery district
Citizen M Lower Manhattan
Lower Manhattan is the lower part of the neighborhood. It’s huge. There are so many interesting places to visit. Ground Zero, Wall Street or Chinatown are some ideas. The departure to see the Statue of Liberty is also from Lower Manhattan. The atmosphere that is breathed there is unique in the world. You could say it’s the most authentic New York. Of course, you have to keep in mind that this is one of the areas where housing is the most expensive.
One of the most interesting hotels with the best value for money in Lower Manhattan is the CitizenM, located in the heart of the Bowery district, it is an excellent starting point to explore the Big Apple. SoHo, Little Italy, and Chinatown are all within walking distance of the hotel. All 300 rooms are the same (no suites or connecting rooms here) and offer the basics. King-size beds and desks, bathrooms are small, and the vanity is outside, but the rainfall shower is a luxury.
What do travelers think? With a 4.6 out of 5 on Google and a 9.1 out of 10 on Booking.com, this is one of lower Manhattan’s hotels with the most positive reviews. Many guests praise the views from rooms on higher floors.

The Hoxton Williamsburg
Brooklyn has been in fashion for a few years now. It’s like the coolest part of New York. A place where intellectuals, artists and bohemians gather. A few years ago, when it was less known, hotels were much cheaper, today the difference is much less. However, it is worth crossing the bridge, looking for a hotel in Brooklyn and enjoying another New York that is not Manhattan. It is a highly recommended neighborhood also with very good communication with Manhattan.
If you decide to stay in Brooklyn, we recommend the first American establishment of the British boutique brand The Hoxton. Located in Williamsburg, this one offers sleek design and attentive service at a price well below most New York hotels, as well as a chic rooftop bar with enviable views of Manhattan. That is, another different perspective of The Big Apple.
What do travelers think? Reviews are generally very positive. With a rating of 4.4 out of 5 on Google and 8.2 out of 10 on Booking.com, recent stays indicate that the rooms are particularly large compared to those in Manhattan.
