This year woke up with countless hotel openings around the world. After months of paralysis, 2022 has many surprises in store for us, some of which are truly luxurious. Again and again postponed, on this occasion, everything indicates that the inaugurations will not suffer any more delays.
To warm up the engines, we selected nine of the fanciest establishments, although there could have been many more. There are hotels for all tastes -in the city, by the sea, surrounded by exuberant nature, housed in historic buildings or in unique constructions-, but they all share a common denominator: they will offer services capable of satisfy the most demanding customers.

It is without a doubt one of the most impressive novelties of the year. Hidden at 3,000 meters above sea level, between the historic city of Cusco and the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, this property will not only provide extraordinary accommodation, but will also allow an intimate connection with the sacred land and indigenous traditions.
It is accessed by a private path that leads to a large geodesic dome perched on the mountainside. It has five suites and a restaurant inside the main StarDome, and a separate suite with a cabin-like structure. All are equipped with numerous luxuries and 360º views. This castle, abandoned for almost a century, will open its doors this spring – there is still no definitive date – in the region of Puglia, in the south of Italy, after three years of work which has restored it to its full splendor. For the construction of the Buahan, the Banyan Tree Escape used Ulin wood, a type of very strong material commonly used in the docks and decks of fishing boats. An open kitchen has been installed in the heart of the resort where guests can put into practice a philosophy based on local sourcing and zero waste. The Botanist Bar completes a proposal focused on the use of ingredients and products grown in the region.
