Sunday April 10. 1st stage Tour Turkey
Bad luck accompanied the The Kern Pharma team at its debut this Sunday at Turkey Presidential Cycling Tour (Turkey, UCI 2.Pro, 10-17/04). Savva Novikov -the Russian who competes as a neutral- was involved in a fall for which he had to be taken to hospital with a broken collarbone. A similar incident was committed by his partner Vojtech Řepawho, fortunately, did not have to deplore any major consequences and was able to cross the finish line. Alex Jaime he was the best pharmacist in the sprint which ended in victory for Ewan (LTS).
Six runners played the main role in the progress of the day, which promised to be calm because it was the longest and flattest of the 57th edition of the Turkey Presidential Cycling Tour. The peloton, in which the pharmaceutical cyclists paraded, tracked them down before tackling the last 35 kilometers and the day ended in a sprint. Unfortunately, the workforce of Navarre was reduced by the falls of Novikov Yes Řepa, because they deprived him of enjoying the desired departure. For Paul UrtasunDirector of The Kern Pharma team In the Turkish round, the day was anything but positive: “We started the stage with a fall and a mechanical problem, then we had to mourn the broken collarbone of Savva. Now we have to recover from the misfortune and think about the seven who remain”.
the Turkey Presidential Cycling Tour will hold its second stage on Monday. A route along the coast of 158 kilometers with a predictable end to the sprint after having overcome the only ascent of the day, a third category.
