Yesterday we were able to enjoy the first performance of those scheduled for these four days. It is the cantaora María Terremoto who has been in charge of launching this program that we detail below and with which Flamenco Festival intends to offer the spectator a tour of the best cante, guitar and dance.

The first day of the flamenco festival at the Dubai World Expo 2020 was performed by the cantaora Maria Earthquakethe youngest artist to win the Giraldillo Revelation award at the Biennial of Flamenco in Seville, who as soon as she arrived at the Pavilion of Spain managed to captivate the public with Recital, a show that includes songs that have accompanied her since childhood .

Mercedes of Cordoba

The artist from Cordoba, who first appeared on the stage of the Teatro Real at the age of 17, arrives in Dubai to give a masterclass and present her show Ser, neither with me nor without me, which she performs with guitarist Juan Campallo. In it, the artist travels through his memories, conflicts, fears and hopes through tarantos, bulerías, proclamations or soleás, among other styles.

Lucie La Pinona

Born in Cádiz, Lucía La Piñona is defined by many as special because she is unlike anyone else, which is quite a compliment for an artist like her who has been on a tablao since she was a little girl. He arrives at the Universal Exhibition in Dubai to participate in María Moreno’s flashmob and to participate in the Flamencho Guitar Show with Javier Ibáñez.

Edward Guerrero

She started dancing at the age of six and since then she hasn’t done anything else. Specialized critics say of him that “he is brutal, radical, that he dances with rage, with his guts”, and this is what we will see him do in Dubai, where he will participate in the central act of the Flamenco Festival: the Flamenco Gala.
